Martinrea Expanding Ontario Facility to Add a 3000-Ton Simpac Press

Automotive supplier Martinrea International Inc. has announced plans to invest nearly $35 million to expand its 100,000-sq.-ft. facility in Ridgetown, Ontario, Canada, with a new addition to house a new Simpac 3000-metric-ton stamping press. The project is slated for completion by early 2025.
The new press will allow for the production of larger and more complex parts for customers, say company officials, including body-in-white components, battery enclosures and chassis parts. It also promises to enhance production efficiency and quality, minimizing waste and energy consumption.
The Ridgetown plant, established in 1987 and acquired by Martinrea in 2006, employs approximately 150 people and produces an array of metal stampings and welded assemblies.
