Cloos North America, a subsidiary of Cloos Group, provider of welding and automation equipment, opened its new, North American headquarters in Schaumburg, IL on June 18. The more than 45,000-square-foot facility triples the company’s production space for the manufacture and assembly of welding automation cells and systems, expands its operations, training, sales and service support. The $15 million facility, set on three acres, represents an investment in the North American market as Cloos grows its presence in response to increased demand for pre-engineered and custom robotic welding systems.
Since 1985, Cloos has steadily increased sales in North America, making the United States its second-largest market after its home base in Germany. The company projects that two out of every three Cloos welding systems sold will be manufactured, assembled, and tested in North America over the next five years.Doug Zoller, president of Cloos North America, says, “The new facility will allow us to provide greater supply security and shorter lead times to customers.”
