Mexico Stamping Technology Webinar Series—Webinar Series Designed for Metal Formers in Mexico
March 27, 2025Comments
Join MetalForming and PMA for four dates in April when eight different speakers, en Espanol, address issues aimed at helping metal stamping companies south of the border improve productivity and quality.
Now in its 11th consecutive year (the last six as a virtual webinar series), MetalForming magazine’s Mexico Stamping Technology Conference promises to deliver technical information that metal stamping professionals can take right into the shop, to drive gains in productivity and quality. This year’s edition takes place as a series of four 3-hr. online meetings.
The webinars kick off Tuesday, April 1, with a session on die-protection theory, presented by Enrique Rios, Mexico district manager for Wintriss Controls.
Tuesday, April 1, 9-11:30 a.m. CT Thursday, April 3, 9-11:30 a.m. CT Tuesday, April 8, 9-11:30 a.m. CT Thursday, April 10, 9-11:30 a.m. CT |
On the agenda:
- How to properly select the ideal logic-sensor type (green, red, yellow) for any application
- Die-protection tips without losing productivity
- When to use electromechanical and electronic sensors
- How to install sensors for optimum reliability and long life
- A four-step failsafe process for locating misfeed sensors.
Following Rios, servo press scientist David Diaz Infante, from Nidec Minster, presents a talk on servo press optimization. Noting that a large number of servomechanical presses in the industry are underutilized, Infante will identify common bottlenecks and explore new strategies to maximize servo press efficiency. “Whether aiming to increase throughput, reduce setup times or enhance product quality,” Diaz says, “this presentation offers actionable insights tailored to boost manufacturing capabilities.”
Coil-Line Maintenance
… kicks off day two of the webinar series on April 3. Speaker Roberto Aguilar, from Coe Press Equipment Corp., will explore the benefits of preventive maintenance over reactive repairs. “Unscheduled breakdowns can disrupt operations, increase costs and compromise safety,” Aguilar says. “In contrast, preventive maintenance reduces unexpected failures, improves efficiency and ensures a safer work environment.”
The webinar will cover essential maintenance areas, including lubrication, power transmission, mechanical assembly and working surfaces. Aguilar also will highlight coil-reel and uncoiler maintenance, focusing on material tension control, brake performance and hydraulic-system upkeep. And, he’ll address electrical-system maintenance for preventing failures in motor connections, drive amplifiers and fluid-ingress points.
Wrapping up the April 3 session, we hear from Enrique Para from Unist, Inc., who presents Lubrication Best Practices. Para will explain the application of Industry 4.0 tenets of smart-manufacturing technology to press lubrication. “Using machine-to-machine communication and Internet of Things technology can help metal stampers analyze and diagnose lubrication-related issues out on the pressroom floor,” he says, “without human interaction.”
