Software Update Unlocks Increased Cobot Payloads
September 27, 2024Comments
Universal Robots announced increased payloads at no cost on its UR20 and UR30 collaborative robots (cobots) to 25 and 35 kg respectively, including end effectors, when using the cobots in top-lift positions. This is especially useful for palletizing applications, note company officials.
The increased payloads can be unlocked by updating Universal Robots’ PolyScope software to version 5.19 or later. UR20s and UR30s shipped during the balance of 2024 automatically will include the software needed to support the use of higher payloads.
A UR20 palletizing application with increased payload was showcased for the first time at the China International Industry Fair in Shanghai this fall (pictured).
