Big Rapids Products Receives $480,000 Grant for Expansion

Per BigRapidsNews.com, metal forming company Big Rapids Products, a supplier of metal stampings and assemblies with three facilities in Big Rapids, MI, has received a Michigan Business Development Program grant of $480,000 through the Michigan Strategic Fund for a planned expansion, expected to add 60 new jobs and to include $3 million in capital investment.
Says Josh Siple, vice president of operations at Big Rapids Products: “With the robust talent pool and business-friendly climate, Big Rapids Products is very excited for the continuous growth at our Michigan facilities.”
The firm plans to build an additional 77,000-sq.-ft. facility at one of its facilities, for warehousing and shipping, and will add manufacturing capacity at its two other locations. It specializes in all applications of stainless steel, including exhaust systems and decorative bright trim, and also supplies welded assemblies, e-coated parts, and painted and powder-coated parts. It currently employs about 300 workers and is collaborating with Ferris State University and Michigan Works! West Central to source additional talent.
