Macrodyne Showcases TRU Direct-Drive Press at FABTECH
November 1, 2024CommentsJeff Walsh, Macrodyne Press Technologies, introduced the press OEM’s TRU direct-drive servo press at FABTECH 2024.
Designed with industrial screw technology driven by torque and servo motors this press allows the slide to move up and down the same way a hydraulic cylinder would, but under servo control and with no oil.
One of the advantages of this technology is that the slide can oscillate up to 30 times/sec. during the forming process. This allows stampers to form deeper draws—beyond what a hydraulic or servo-mechanical press currently can.
The press is equipped with ram force up to 5000 T; stroke and daylight up to 12 ft. The bed can be sized up to 20-ft. by 12-ft.
